NYCLU Testifies Before Suffolk County Hate Crimes Task Force
On Aug. 25, Suffolk County Chapter Director Andrea Callan testified before the Suffolk County Hate Crimes Task Force at a public hearing in Wyandanch. The County Legislature created the task force last year in response to the murder of Ecuadorian immigrant Marcelo Lucero, a Patchogue resident.

Touro Law’s ACLU Student Group Revived
This year, the ACLU student group at Touro Law Center was revived by Suffolk Chapter board member Rajiv Syed, a third-year Touro law student who is serving as the group’s president. On Thursday, Aug. 20, the student group and Suffolk Chapter hosted an information and sign-up table during orientation for Touro’s incoming law students.
